Aims and Objectives
Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee is engaged in the following activities:
- Providing Free Legal Aid and Services for conduct of cases in the High Court,or legal proceedings before any authority or tribunal;
- Organizing Lok Adalat for amicable settlement of pending cases in the High Court of Delhi and and pre-litigative cases;
- Settlement of pending cases in the High Court of Delhi and pre-litigative cases by Mediation & Conciliation;
- Spreading Legal awareness.
Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee is committed to ensure “Access to Justice for All”
Entitlement To Legal Services
The following category of persons are entitled to grant of Legal Services as per Section 12 of Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987:
- a member of a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe;
- a victim of trafficking in human beings or beggar;
- a woman or child;
-
a person with disability as defined in clause (i) of section 2 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Right and full Participation ) Act, 1995, which means persons suffering with blindness, low vision, leprosy-cured, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, mental retardation or mental illness;
-
victim of mass disaster, ethnic violence, caste atrocity, flood, drought, earthquake or industrial disaster, or
- an industrial workman; or

persons in custody, including custody in the protective home or in a juvenile home or in psychiatric hospital or psychiatric nursing home or
-
where the annual income of a person “From All Sources” does not acceed Rs.50,000/-. (as per notification no. F.27/3/2003- Judl./CD/07/2260 dated 12th April 2007
