  • The banks were able to effect recovery of Rs.13,73,64,727.83/-(Rupees Thirteen Crores Seventy Three Lacs Sixty Four Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Seven and Eighty Three Paisa).
  • In motor accident claim cases, insurance companies distributed compensation to the tune of Rs.12,66,450/-(Rupees Twelve Lacs Sixty Six Thousand Four Hundred Fifty).
  • The electricity companies were able to make a recovery of Rs.55,77,957.48/-(Rupees Fifty Five Lacs Seventy Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Seven and Forty Eight Paisa).
  • Shri H.S.Dhaliwal, Additional D.C.P., West District, approached the committee for seeking expert help and advice to settle the cases at pre litigative stage. Under the directions of Hon’ble justice Dr. M.K.Sharma, the then chairman. as his lordship the chief justice was then, Shri D.S.Punia, Secretary of the Committee visited police stations of West District and had an interaction and orientation with the police officers about the techniques of settling the matters at pre-litigative stage. An exhaustive exercise was carried out and various ways and means were evolved for settlement of petty and compoundable cases.
  • In the said exercise, assistance of social workers and moderate police officials was taken to bring about amicable settlement between the complainant and accused parties.
  • After the said exercise, police report from the West District has shown a decline of more than 50% in the lodging of complaints/FIRs in case of petty offences.
