The Committee organized Lok Adalats for taking up pending matters in Special Electricity Courts as well as pre-litigative cases involving Discoms at its New Office Complex i.e Room No. 59-66-B, Shahid Bhagat Singh Place, Gole Market, New Delhi -110001.
On 15th March 2008, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sat Pal (Retd.), Hon’ble Mr. Justice P. N. Nag (Retd.), Sh. Rakesh Kapoor, AD&SJ and Sh. Arun Arya, AD&SJ presided over the Lok Adalats in which out of 146 cases involving BSES (Rajdhani) & (Yamuna) 114 were settled.
On 16th March 2008, Lok Adalat was presided over by Sh. A. K. Chawla, AD&SJ and Sh. Prem Kumar Barthwal, AD&SJ and decided electricity disputes involving North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL). Out of 73 matters that were taken up 71 matters were decided.
On 18th & 19th March 2008, Lok Adalats were organized from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the Committee roped in the services of its empanelled advocates namely Sh. Bhupesh Narula, Sh. K. K. Aggarwal, Sh. Neeraj Choudhary and Sh. Jagdip Kr. Sharma. Out of the 109 cases that were taken up 80 cases were decided involving BSES (Rajdhani) & (Yamuna).
It is heartening to note that the success rate was 79%.
